The product of the Opportunity Analysis is a strategic document, including an opportunity analysis, component recommendations and an action plan. The specification is generally 8-10 pages and represents a general project definition. It also includes a cost proposal, establishing a general budget and timeline for delivery.

Application & System Design

The Application & System Design process is conducted following the Opportunity Analysis, specifically when the project requires a custom web application or information system. This process breaks down the project definition into phases, components and distributes the development process across a timeline.

The Application & System Design process produces a document that includes a description of the project, project goals, objectives, milestones and a detailed project plan and detailed cost breakdown for the project.

Think of this process in terms of building a house, where you’re the homeowner and Firefly is the architect. We explore what it is you want and need, and then we create a set of blueprints for the project. Once we agree the blueprints reflect what you want, we turn over the plans to the builders.

At this point, once the Application & System Design is approved, Firefly will develop the project as defined. Or, if you desire, you have the option to take these design plans and shop the project with other developers.
